Sanoma's business daily, Taloussanomat, will take over the responsibility for producing the content of the business news segments on SWelcom's TV channel, Nelonen, as of January 1, 2002. Nelonen will handle the TV production of the service and the Web video versions of the material. Video news segments will be available via the Internet at http://www.nelonen.fi and www.taloussanomat.fi.
"This new cooperation will strengthen Nelonen's business news expertise and offer viewers a better service," according to the head of Nelonen's news department, Juhani Pekkala.
"From our perspective at Taloussanomat, the arrangement will offer us a new distribution channel for our content, complementing our existing print and online products," says the paper's Editor-in-Chief, Antti-Pekka Pietilä.
