FEMEIA, the magazine title with the longest history in Romania (since 1868), is the most read monthly women's magazine according to the Romanian National Study of Audience figures (NSA). FEMEIA has 459,000 readers per issue, leaving the competition behind. Avantaje, FEMEIA's main competitor, has almost 200,000 readers less.
Acquired and relaunched by Sanoma Hearst Romania in 2006, the magazine is addressed to active women aged between 25 and 45 years old, style and career conscious as well as family-oriented. The editorial content covers articles about fashion, beauty, real life, home decoration and hobbies. No other Romanian magazine has a tradition of 140 years and reinvented itself time and time again. With the latest readership figures FEMEIA is the undisputed leader amongst women's monthly magazines.
"It is a great tradition within Sanoma Magazines to have the biggest, oldest magazine brands in our publishing houses in all our countries," says Els Loesberg, CEO of Sanoma Hearst Romania. Cezar Burlan, Sanoma Hearst Romania's Advertising Sales Director, adds: "Now with 459,000 readers every issue, FEMEIA is the first choice for advertisers who want to reach adult women with a monthly general interest magazine. We have invested time and resources in this magazine and it seems that we did a very good job considering both the circulation and readership figures."
Sanoma Hearst Romania publishes the Romanian editions of the international publications Marie Claire, Harper's BAZAAR, Esquire, Cosmopolitan, Beau Monde, National Geographic, FHM and also Mami, Femeia., Casa si Gradina, Story and Femeia de Azi.
